Judy Cueva, Queens Dance Academy Owner, celebrates her 25th Anniversary together with her staff and students.

Judy Cueva, founder and director of Queens Dance Academy

Judy's dance career began at age three in a local dance studio under the direction of Joe Wilson. Her passion to dance and teach led the path to study under extraordinary teachers at the Ballet Academy in Queens, Broadway Dance Center in Manhattan and the National Association of Dance and Affiliated Artists. Judy continues her career by attending educational courses and seminars for dance educators.

Queens Dance Academy opened their doors in 1979 creating a friendly atmosphere to all and provides a unique dance education to thousands of students. Having a long and distinguished history in the community of "27" years, our staff has been dedicated not only to teaching class, but also helping to instill values and a sense of responsibility into our students. Our policy of giving back to the community includes performing dance shows in a variety of venues such as:

  • Community Day in Forest Park
  • Glendale Kiwanis Christmas parties
  • Knights of Columbus Shows
  • Nursing homes
  • Girl Scout Troops
  • Demonstrations for dance in the New York City Public School System
  • Christmas shows in the Oak Ridge House

  • Muscular Dystrophy and the American Cancer Society

As Director and Owner of Queens Dance Academy for 27 Years, Judy says "The highlight of my dancing career is to watch students experience the joy of performing from the heart, body, mind and soul.  Starting a dance career at age 3, learning and studying dance all through the years, left me with a passion to teach and choreograph in a way to make a difference in the arts".

"To see hard work, dedication, enthusiasm in the eyes of children is the most precious gift a teacher can achieve".

"The end result is a perfect dancer".
